Hello everyone, SDV here! This is my first story on FictionPress! Yay!! X3 I would've posted this on FanFiction, but this is more like an original story, so... By the way, the series is Cerath. Credits to DarkZelda who came up with the name of the world that this story's gonna take place. ^.^ That is all. :3
The night sky was a dark, dark black, the shine from the full moon's light being practically the only light there was. The stars assisted on shining the night sky, but the stars' light did little compared to the moon.
The buildings were dark, silent, and organized in rows. They looked blacker than black, no windows covered the walls of the houses. Right in the middle was a small market, where people came to buy all of their goods that they need. Right in the middle of that small market was a waterfall. However, the looked eerie and red instead of the crystal blue water that you would normally see. Sitting behind everything was a large, black castle with windows, but they blended into the night.
Two figures were running through the night, unnoticeable. The two figures ran through the market almost at the speed of light. They rounded around and hid an a nearby alleyway.
"I think we're good for now," the young female figure whispered.
Suddenly, men in black armor came into the alleyway. Black bat wings stretched from their backs.
"Thought you could run from us, huh?" One man in armor asked.
He came around behind the young male figure, and locked his arms to the young man's arms behind him.
"You need to return with us, prince. Your father, His Majesty, is very concerned for your return," the first man in armor said.
The young man had raven black hair, eyes redder than blood. His skin was pale white, which nearly blended into his white dress shirt, covered by a black vest and a red tie. He wore a blood red cape, black dress pants and shoes, and carried a scythe around him, the blade shining silver.
A second guard came and wrapped a tight half nelson around the female's neck.
"What shall we do with this one, boss?" the second guard asked.
"Let us go!" the girl exclaimed.
She had yellow eyes, which was very odd compared to the rest of the citizens of this kingdom. Short, blonde hair reached her shoulders, and white rabbit ears sat on top of her head. She wore a yellow short-sleeved shirt with a green collar and a green knee-high skirt. White socks reached half way up her knees, her feet covered with black maid-like shoes. A white spirit-like creature floated around the girl.
"I say we kill the traitor! She is just a mere slave, we can replace her any day of the week," a third guard said. He was smacked at the back of his head by a fourth guard.
"You fool! Do you realize what will happen to us if we kill the prince's most trustworthy servant?!" the fourth guard said.
"...I guess you're right," the third guard said, slightly scared.
"We should be-"
The second guard's right cheek bled, his face surprised and scared to death. His body dropped as his cheek bled and bled, until it remained motionless. The rabbit girl stood there, holding two guns in her hands, her head slightly covered with blood. Her head was down, but in a second, she lifted her head to reveal that her eyes were red like blood.
"Nobody lays a FINGER on me and Master Draco!" she said in a bitter tone.
She took the gun in her right hand, aimed for the first guard's left arm, and shot the guard. The first guard released Draco and fell to the ground, dead. Draco took the rabbit girl's hand, stretched his wings, and flew off towards the west, away from the large castle that sat behind the duo. They landed in a field, not far outside the town. Green grass surrounded the duo in the field. Draco walked up, lifted his hand up, and proceeded to touch the air, but instead hit an invisible barrier that lit up a bright yellow color when touched. The rabbit girl turned towards her left and saw the sun starting to rise.
"Master," the girl said as she turned back to Draco. Her eyes appeared to be back to yellow. "Are you sure we should do this?"
"We must," Draco said. "I can't be trapped in that castle any longer. I'm nineteen years old, for God's sake!"
"What if the sun burns you?" the girl countered back.
"My father said my mark gives us a special ability, but I have never been able to figure it out," Draco said as he continued to touch the barrier. "but, mayvbe, just maybe, tonight is going to be the night that I escape hell of a castle called my home!"
"Well, the night isn't going to last much longer," the rabbit girl said as she turned back towards the sun. "the sun's about to rise!"
Draco turned and saw the sun rising higher and higher. He turned back to the barrier and finally replied, "Perfect chance to strike!"
Draco struck the barrier with his scythe. The barrier began to crack. The crack grew and grew until it covered the entire barrier. A few seconds later, the whole barrier came tumbling down. Thousands of glass-like shards suddenly came raining down. The young duo ran out of the barrier as fast as they could, and ran off into the forest.
The duo ran deep into the forest, as far away from the kingdom as they could. Finally, after a while, the duo took a break and sat against a tree. The forest was beautiful.
Luscious green leaves covered the trees, allowing little sunlight to pass through the leaves. Birds chirped, squirrels ran across the tress, the forest was simply beautifully peaceful. The rabbit girl looked towards her right, to see Draco intact. She got surprised, stood up, and gasped.
"Master! You survived in the sunlight!" she exclaimed.
Draco gave her a puzzled look. He stood up, looked at his hands, and realized that he did not burn from the sun's rays.
"It must've been the mark that you inherited." the rabbit girl said to Draco."So THAT'S the gift that Father told me about..."
Draco thought to himself.
"So, what now, Master?" the rabbit girl asked Draco.
Draco stood silent. The whole area grew silent. Draco stood silent for a while, until he finally replied, "Amai, we must disguise ourselves."
"What?! How come?!" Amai exclaimed as the white spirit flew around hyperactively.
"Your naive side is showing again, huh?" Draco said as a small smirk grew on his face. "On a serious note, we must hide our identity to avoid Father trying to bring us back."
"Hiding our identities..." Amai said. "Don't you mean your
Draco turned his head towards Amai and replied with a confused tone. "Mine?"
"Yes," Amai responded. "the thing that matters is that you conceal your identity, mine does not matter."
"If my identity is revealed, then all that I'll receive is a scold from my father for running away," Draco said. "you on the other hand, you would probably be executed!"
"I'm just a little slave, my life does not matter, especially after everything that has happened to me..." Amai whispered as her head tilted towards the ground.
Draco wrapped his left arm around Amai, dragged her towards him, and gave her a hug.
"You are NOT a slave! If you were a slave, you wouldn't be getting all of this special attention that I give you! I-I can't even CONSIDER you a slave anymore!" Draco exclaimed.
"...I am actually not that know in the Toalith Kingdom. Everyone would always call me just a slave, some people don't even know my name! I can use that as an advantage to hide my identity!" Amai exclaimed. She got out of Draco's hug and turned to him. "Isn't that a good idea?"
"...I guess. But we're sticking together! New identities means no more master and slave business, alright?" Draco asked.
"Alright, I'll try my best" Amai replied.
"Meanwhile, as I have earth powers, which is rare among vampires like me, I shall be under the name of Chikyu Komori from this point on." the young vampire said.
"I'll try my best to call you that from now on, m- I mean, Chikyu," Amai said.
"I guess it'll take a little while for us to get used to it," Chikyu said, slightly embarrassed. "We should find a town where we can disguise myself."
"Right," Amai replied.
The duo walked straight ahead to find a nearby town in order to start their new lives.Thank GOD this is done! I've decided that this story will be around 10 chapters long, not including the prologue and epilogue. I'll probably be updating around every week to two weeks. I would also like to thank DarkZelda15 for the help she has given me so far. Um...there was more, but I forgot the rest. XD See ya next time! :3
